| So today I attended a meeting with my call center manager.. Doyle something... He gave a passionate speech about how customer service could only improve if the company cared for their employees and listened to them. I listened to him from my uncomfortable spot on the floor because the damn conference room didn't have enough chairs! If he wants happy employees I suggest he start with the basics.
On another note, I finished editing a fanfiction today. I felt like I was actually making it worse. I have so much trouble with passive voice it's not even funny. I think it goes back to my patchy education on the English language. Either that, or I just wasn't paying attention in class. But the problem with being a military brat is you move to different schools. Many schools teach different things in different grades, there's no standards across all the states. So somewhere in there some things were skipped. It wasn't until my Freshman year of highschool when we were playing a mad libs game that I admitted to my teacher I didn't have a clue what an adverb was. She kindly found some adult education materials on the subject and privately assisted me. The rest of the rules are pretty sketchy and I admit I write mainly instinctually. Which I think I do a pretty damn good job of it too! (For the most part anyways)
My dad pissed me off Thursday night. I was settling down to watch Supernatural and he was playing poker on the computer. Not five minutes into the episode he says, "How the hell can you watch this shit? The acting's bad, the story is ridiculous..." I cut him off and asked him if I mocked his shows. He shut up, but the rest of the episode I kept thinking he was judging the show and it really spoiled it for me. I was really upset.
A good thing (sorta) happened to me the other night. My monitor refused to turn on. Crap. That means I need a new one. Well I headed down to Tech for Less and picked out a nice one. Brought it back and realized I do NOT like Wide Gamut Color monitors. Wide Gamut is not standard for the internet or programs so it's overkill and the colors apear over saturated and look like crap. So I returned the monitor and got another, this one was $80 cheaper, 22' wide screen. It's beautiful. So much space. I think my monitors will progressivly get larger over the years. And as I get more money. |
